3. The Outlast Trials
Outlast has proven itself as a mainstay horror franchise in the world of gaming, with two solid entries and a selection of downloadable content already on offer.
This is why the announcement of The Outlast Trials was so exciting. Announced all the way back in 2017, this first person co-operative horror game has been extremely lacking in information.
The game is a prequel to the first two Outlast games, set in a facility of the Murkoff corporation who are featured predominantly in the first entry. This facility is performing experiments on people which the player presumably falls victim to and must escape throughout the course of the game while uncovering the mysteries of the shady organisation.
A gameplay trailer released in 2021 shows players navigating this facility, at one point being pursued through a creepy model town constructed within the compound to run these experimental trials.
Now scheduled for 2022, a specific release date and more details should be revealed soon.
