Wasteland 3 is a post-apocalyptic RPG filled with psychotic raiders and mutated monsters. As such, it makes sense to give your characters the necessary skills for their survival.

Most people assume this means abilities that make them more proficient with guns and melee weapons. However, the true fans of the series know that the deadliest of things lie inside broken toasters.

Toaster Repair is a skill in Wasteland 3 that very obviously sticks out from the rest of the more survival-relevant talents. However, despite it doing exactly what it says, giving you the ability to repair one of the most basic appliances in your kitchen, the world of Wasteland is actually full of bread burners with ridiculously powerful items inside.

Every toaster you repair comes with a secret prize, some of which are simple items like money, and some of which are unique Weird Science weapons, like the Argon Lance that can immediately vaporize your enemies, or a blueprint for a Tar Thrower launcher that can burn hostiles for thousands of damage.

How any of these items fit inside tiny appliances is anyone’s guess, but what’s important is that they can be yours if you just learn how to unjam them from their toasty prison.
