10 Video Game "Super Soldiers" That Were Completely Useless
3. Mass Effect: Saren Arterius
Saren Arterius was introduced in the very first Mass Effect series as the main antagonist to the player's Commander Shepard. Saren is a Turian Specter who turns on his entire galaxy because he holds a hatred for humanity and all the other weaker races in the Milky Way Galaxy that the Turians have to protect.
While he is the game's main antagonist, the player goes through almost two-thirds of the game before they even meet Saren face to face for their first battle. For a Turian Specter with advanced Reaper cybernetic implants, Saren just decides to stay on his discounted Green Goblin hovercraft and offers no real resistance or difficulty in the fight, and he's taken out with normal bullets and grenades.
Then the player has to wait until the last boss fight to face Saren once more. They can even skip part of the final battle by convincing Saren to just kill himself, in a way completely rending him useless for a superpowered villain.
Either way, Saren just dies, and then the actual final boss fight starts, forcing Shepard to fight against Saren's reanimated corpse. His corpse is even less powerful than when Saren was alive as it just jumps around the entire room not really putting up much of a fight and then the game ends without really offering any challenge for the players to face.
