10 Video Game Achievements We Can't Believe People DON'T Have
3. Iudex Gundyr - Dark Souls III
Completion Rate: 94.54%
Now, as
you’ve probably heard from every video game journalist ever, the Dark Souls
series is not for the faint-hearted. FromSoftware’s franchise’s difficulty has
become a meme in its own right and the world’s just had to make its peace with
that.
The series’ boss battles in particular are known as the stuff of nightmares, with fans each having their own particular picks for the hardest ever. From Bloodborne’s Orphan of Kos to Dark Souls III’s Nameless King, that are so many challenging bouts to choose from there.
In this case, trophies and achievements from boss battles tend to be well earned. However, Iudex Gundyr (not to be confused with Champion Gundyr, who has his own titular trophy) certainly isn’t among Dark Souls III’s most challenging encounters.
This tutorial boss is fought outside the Firelink Shrine very early in the game, using predictable and telegraphed attacks intended to teach the player the fundamentals of the game’s combat. Sadly, 94.54% of gamers defeated him, meaning that a small percentage never even reached the game’s main hub. That’s a poor showing.
