10 Video Game Bosses Genuinely IMPOSSIBLE Without A Guide

4. Bed Of Chaos - Dark Souls

FTL: Faster Than Light
FromSoftware

With other Dark Souls bosses, even if it's your first time, as long as you acclimate well to the mechanics and come to terms with the inevitability of you dying a LOT, most of the boss fights - you'll find - are perfectly fair and balanced to your abilities.

And then there's this viney boy.

The problem with this whole fight is that it's littered with traps that kill you immediately, including a TON of bottomless pits. This is compounded by the fact that the Bed Of Chaos LOVES to swing its vines in great sweeping motions that the camera likely won't let you see in time because of the layout of the arena, so you're gonna die a lot - but not in a way that you had the means of preventing, which runs counter to every boss before and after this.

A guide will tell you not only how to watch out for its attacks and where to go in order to NOT fall to your death, but it also might tell you of the fandom's little work around glitch for this fight that gets you underneath the bastard for a quick victory.

Cheating? Most definitely, but Dark Souls prides itself on not being traditionally fair, so why should the player worry about the rules?
