4. Most Bosses (The Legend of Zelda Series)

Bosses feature heavily in all of the Legend of Zelda games - they always carry the items you need and always appear the end of each dungeon. In some cases an ancient evil has taken up residence in a dungeon or has been bent towards Ganon's will, but apart from these ones, quite a few of them are merely large monsters not bothering anyone. In Ocarina of Time, you fight against a giant lizard in a small room covered in lava. He's not bothering anyone - he's trapped on a small stone in said lava with no way out until suddenly a young man turns up, throws a few things at him before dumping him in the lava. The giant lizard doesn't even have a way out as Link leaves through a small magical portal. The lizard wasn't bothering anyone - he was happy eating his rocks and minding his own business until Link turned up to prove his manliness to the village. You could claim that this was a one off, but it's not. In every Zelda game to date, Link has always made his way into some cave or sky city to pick a fight with the monsters that live there. If whatever items that were needed to save Zelda or the kingdom were so important, why weren't they hidden in places that wouldn't attract all sorts of monsters? In fact, we've had so many games now where these items have been re-used, shouldn't they perhaps be put in some sort of storage for later use? For a small kingdom such as Hyrule, a lot of shenanigans seem to be going on and a lot of defenceless and innocent monsters get hurt. I'd much rather some of these monsters survived rather than be killed by Link, purely so he can get another heart.
