10 Video Game Bosses That Used Your Best Move Against You

The inner struggles of a protagonist in a video game often lead to compelling character building, but sometimes it can also be the foundation for an amazing boss battle. That's definitely the case in EarthBound (also known as Mother 2), as this creature is, quite literally, the manifestation of all the evils in Ness' mind.

This kickass boss fight takes place in Magicant, a realm inside Ness' head, and really shows what it's like to battle the badness inside yourself. As a physical embodiment of the evil within Ness, this boss comes complete with a knowledge of his signature attacks, which it uses to tear down your HP.

Ness' trademark PSI Rockin attack is stolen and used by the nightmare, as well as PK Flash. It's not even just the attacks this abomination steals, as they can also use the PSI Lifeup and Shield Beta moves to protect themselves and raise their health.

This is a truly thematic encounter as defeating the villain leads to Ness eradicating the fears, evils, and doubts within his heart. It's a really tricky fight but talk about cathartic!
