2. Dracula - Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night (1997)

If you're going for the true ending of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, you'll notice straight away just how much of a difficulty spike the inverted castle introduces. All of the enemies are now different and really know how to hurt you, despite your health bar probably being quite big by this point. Compared to the final encounter with Count Dracula, however, those guys are just ants beneath your feet.

One of these new enemies is the Schmoo, which, if you're very, very, VERY lucky, will drop a game-changing sword called the Crissaegrim, something you'll likely use exclusively from then on. The weapon is not the strongest in terms of raw damage, but the fact that each strike hits three times and can be repeated at an amazing rate will decimate every single thing in Alucard's path.

Now, that's not to say that Dracula will just bow down to you with this weapon, because you'll still have to put a bit of work in to chip away at his immense health pool, but if you play your cards right, you can conquer the vampire's horrific final form in less than a minute.

As an added bonus, those jammy enough to get themselves a second Crissaegrim can dual wield them and render themselves virtually invincible.
