4. Days Gone (2019)
Days Gone is one of those funny games that no one can quite make their mind up about. Is it great? Is it terrible? Does it deserve a second chance? Who really knows? But one thing everyone can agree on is how hard it sucks that the game's cliffhanger ending will never get resolved.
The game tells the story of a biking bounty hunter named Deacon as he survives a zombie apocalypse. A recurring supporter of his cause is O'Brien, a hazmat suit-wearing scientist who offers Deacon information on his wife in exchange for his help researching the Freakers (zombies).
However, after the main events of the game have concluded, Deacon is called once again and given the shock of his life when finding out that O'Brien has been an evolved Freaker the whole time. O'Brien then ominously warns Deacon that the government agency NERO is coming.
What hurts the most about this one is that this scintillating cliffhanger was a secret ending only available if you 100% completed the game. So, all that hard work and effort you put into Days Gone's true ending was gone in the blink of an eye.
