3. Kieran Duffy - Red Dead Redemption 2
Kieran Duffy might be the most tragic member of Dutch's gang from Red Dead Redemption 2, and that's because he technically never becomes an official member.
As a former O'Driscoll, a rival gang that everyone in Dutch's crew hates with passion, Kieran spends the earlier acts as a prisoner, and even after he is released, he finds it very difficult to fit in with the rest of the gang.
His past affiliation makes everyone treat him with extreme prejudice, and it's easy for the player to share this sentiment, seeing all the awful things O'Driscolls do and the fact that Kieran is written to be a fidgety man who cannot be fully trusted.
However, as time goes on and Kieran integrates with the gang more, the past feelings of mistrust and hatred begin to give way to more positive feelings. When Kieran is no longer seen as an outsider and threat, and the player sees his amicable traits, like his love of horses and his awkward crush on Mary-Beth, most players love spending time with the guy and treat him like a close friend.
Which makes it that much sadder that Kieran never gets a chance to become a proper Dutch boy, losing his life before the gang can start fully trusting him.
