10 Video Game Deaths You Couldn't Avoid

Starting a game with a unbeatable fight against an unending horde of bandits is a pretty cruel punishment for starting a game - and yet it's also the exact way that Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain welcomes you into its wild world.

After exiting a closing tavern that has refused to sell to you, you are greeted with a cry of "THAT'S HIM" and then promptly met by a gaggle of angry bandits.

This does offer you a good moment to get a hang of the combat mechanics, as you’re first met with only one or two of the group you've managed to get on your tail. But you'll quickly realise that there are simply too many bandits for you to take out, and that all of your potential escape routes have been strategically blocked to ensure you get killed by one of these lovely individuals.

Should you manage the borderline impossible task of defeating all the bandits trying to kill you, more will spawn in, until you eventually make one wrong move - or just give up and die to continue the plot.
