2. Hsu Hao's Wanted Poster - Mortal Kombat 1
The Mortal Kombat timeline is littered with more failed characters than a New York sidewalk is with garbage. Fighters like Meat, Taven, Jarek, and more are evidence that the blood-filled franchise doesn't hit with all their new additions to the roster. Still, even among them, the dreaded Hsu Hao stands apart as one of MK's worst!
This unfortunate fighter has become a bit of a joke in the MK community. He is constantly mocked for his blatant Kano-clone look, lacklustre move set, and NetherRealm's refusal to bring him back. Still, while the company seems to want to leave him in the past, this blink-and-you'll-miss-it Easter Egg confirms that he does exist in MK1's new timeline.
When fighting in The Tea House, you can find plenty of self-referential images in the background, one of which is a wanted poster for the much hated Hsu Hao. Of course, this only looks like average set-dressing to new players, as Hsu Hao's lack of exposure in the franchise (being playable only in Deadly Alliance and Armageddon) makes him a complete stranger to a lot of the player base.
Interestingly this poster has now been removed, which is probably for the best.
