Us mere mortals who don’t make video games can only imagine the complexities of programming that goes into creating one of these things.

When it all goes smoothly it’s a dream to play, but one little mishap on the technical side and we can sometimes end up with an exploit. An exploit, if you have been living under a rock or you’re a good gamer who doesn’t do bad things the devs didn’t intend, is basically a bug that players can benefit from.

Or doing something that does exist within the game rules but again, the developers really didn’t want you to.

You aren’t really supposed to be taking advantage of it and there are some who would argue that trying your hand at an exploit ruins the game but, hey, I won’t begrudge you for it. In this list we’re taking a look at a bunch of popular exploits everybody tried their hand at. Until they were patched out, of course. Or fundamentally revolutionised a genre. Either, or.
