10 Video Game Franchises That Need A Reboot

1. Turok

Believe it or not, there has been seven entries into the Turok series to date, with the famed dinosaur hunter last checking in in 2008€™s failed reboot, which was rife with clunky gameplay, and simply, it failed to excite us as much as the far superior N64 games. Quite how a concept so fiendishly, brilliantly simple €“ a time traveler shooting dinosaurs €“ can be so efficiently ruined is anyone€™s guess, but it€™s a series we€™re not quite prepared to write off just yet. Though the last Turok sequel was cancelled when the studio fell apart, and convincing any publisher that another game is in any way a good idea is tough, it€™s still something we think would benefit from how the FPS genre has changed in the last few years. Sure, we wouldn€™t want just €œCall of Duty with dinosaurs€, but the more cinematic feel of post-CoD FPS games would slot perfectly into the world of Turok, which of course is already adapted from comic book source material. Also, online modes would be very much welcome; imagine if we could play as the dinosaurs too this time? But we wouldn€™t expect this one to come along any time soon. Which beloved franchise would you most like to see rebooted? Let us know in the comments below.
