2. Resident Evil

If the latest Resident Evil game proved anything, it was that Capcom are firmly out of ideas, both as far as the absurdly convoluted narrative goes, and the poorly thought-out gameplay mechanics, which aim to rope in the more casual gaming crowd. Its proof that Capcom has run out of steam; the mediocre reviews reinforce this, and suggest that perhaps they need to take a break for a few years, and come back when they actually have something exciting to offer. Were so tired of seeing these characters doing the same old things; how about introducing a new protagonist and exploring some wildly different locations? Get rid of the zombies firing guns, stop the crappy physics and stupid storylines; get back to the simplicity of the earlier games, and either try to be genuinely terrifying or learn to embrace how much of a B-movie-in-waiting they really are. Theyve annoyed the hardcore fans enough already, so why not just try something radically different from the current mulch?
