10 Video Game Items With Secret Features That No One Knows About
4. The Cutter Tool Opens Locked Areas - Starfield
Most first-time Starfield players scratch their heads when they come across the hidden wall panels, as there seems to be no way to access what's beyond them.
What they don't know is that these walls need a specific item, that being the cutter tool, in order to break on through to the other side.
The solution seems simple, seeing that the walls are literally labelled with the words "cuttable wall," but this one utility of the cutter tool typically remains a mystery to new players because the game never explains to you how cuttable walls work, and the process of opening them isn't as simple as pulling out the cutter tool and pressing a button.
What you actually have to do is use the cutter tool on the red latches on the edges of the wall to break them. This will make the wall come loose and give you access to whatever loot is stashed inside.
It should feel obvious, but you'd be surprised how many people miss out on this key feature the first time they play Starfield.
Or maybe you don't because you've been one of those poor, uninformed newbies who couldn't figure it out yourself. If so, know you're not alone, and your struggle is known and heard.
