10 Video Game Joke Items That Are Secretly One-Time Boss Killers
3. Bug-Catching Net - Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is a classic of 2D Zelda games that has introduced a lot of the franchise’s iconic items. One of them is the bug-catching net, which, aside from serving its eponymous purpose, can also be used as a secret weapon against one of the game’s bosses, Agahnim.
The dark wizard is the secret alter ego of Ganon whom you have to fight towards the end of the game. His main weapon against you is magical bolts, which you normally have to deflect at him using the Master Sword.
However, it is secretly just as good, if not better, to use your trusty bug collection tool!
During the fight with Agahnim, if you pull out the net and then time your swing right as Agahnim attacks, you can throw his spell at him and instantly damage him. The Master Sword does a similar thing, but since the net has a much larger range, it's actually easier and more efficient to use.
Getting defeated by a tool children use to scrape beetles off trees probably wasn't on Agahnim's bucket list, but serving his own spells to him in one can definitely be on yours!
