10 Video Game Junk Items You Didn't Know Can Be Turned Into Treasure
8. Toaster - Wasteland
The Wasteland series has a bit of an obsession with toasters. Each game features a whole separate skill exclusively dedicated to repairing them, and although you may question why anyone would waste their skill points on that, let's just say that there's a very valuable but hidden benefit to knowing your way around basic kitchen appliances.
In Wasteland 2 and 3, there are several broken toasters scattered around the world. To your character and everyone else, they might just look like nothing but junk, but if you actually bother to invest enough points into toaster repair, you can fix them by pulling out whatever is jammed into their crevices... which for some reason is almost always some sort of a legendary, one-of-a-kind treasure.
In Wasteland 3, the available rewards for repairing toasters are a Tesla coin rifle, a magical bloodstaff, a uranium-infused crossbow, and more!
Since toaster repair doesn't have any use besides finding treasure in trash, most people don't really pick the skill. However, once you realize just how powerful the treasures you find get, it becomes clear that you won't even need any other skills to completely destroy your enemies.
