10 Video Game Mini-Games Discovered YEARS Later
3. Galaxian Clone - Mortal Kombat 3
In 2016, YouTuber "YourMKArcadeSource" brought to prominence the discovery of a series of secret debug menus hidden within the arcade versions of the first three Mortal Kombat games.
The "EJB Menu" - named after franchise creator Ed Boon - allows players to view the fatalities and ending screens for each character, enter their name into the high score table, and so on.
It can be accessed by entering a string of button presses in quick succession while each game's attract mode screen is playing.
But the "Ultimate EJB Menu," as it calls itself for Mortal Kombat 3, might have the most intriguing discovery of all - a clone of the legendary arcade shooter Galaxian, often misattributed online as the admittedly similar Galaga.
Though the mini-game could be accessed in home versions of Mortal Kombat 3 through use of a more widely-known cheat code, for anyone playing the arcade version - most likely through emulation - the discovery of this secret menu 21 years after the game first hit arcades is absolutely wild.
