Although Soul Reaver and Soul Reaver 2 have proven to be the most popular entries in the Legacy of Kain franchise, the original Blood Omen garnered a resurgence over a decade after its release when an obscure Easter egg was discovered.

In 2010, a project was set up to recreate the PSOne title in 3D. While data-mining, a pirate ship was found called the HMCS Bitter. Even though it was a fascinating find, there didn't seem to be any way to access the vessel.

When the game's designer, Denis Dyack, was grilled about it seven years later, he revealed the Bitter could be boarded by flipping four switches hidden throughout the world of Nosgoth.

However, nobody had ever stumbled upon the quartet of switches before since they were invisible. Since Dyack didn't remember or care to mention where they were, it took players another three years to pinpoint the switches, allowing them to finally set foot on the enigmatic sailing ship.

There's nothing in particular to do on the HMCS Bitter, but it was reassuring to hear this secret has been put to rest, decades after Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain's release.
