4. Mayor Lewis' Secret Affair - Stardew Valley

Most of the charm in the fantastic farming sim, Stardew Valley, is taking a busted-up old crapfarm (that is, a farm which looks like crap, not a farm which produces faeces) and turning it into an agricultural Eden.

Once you get past the chopping, watering and heavy-handed hoeing, there’s actually a deceptively deep game of budding relationships to be had, as you try to endear yourself to the varied cast of characters.

Some grow to like you with little-to-no big effort on your part, lapping up your presence like an excitable golden retriever. Others, however, shrug off even the most elaborate gifts (“what’s this? Lamborghini Diablo? Pff, I prefer potatoes”).

Mayor Lewis can be tricky to win over, but will be extremely grateful if you manage to find his lost purple boxer shorts he’s somehow managed to lose outside in the town (no shaming, it’s easily done, pal). You find them (rather eyebrow-raisingly) in Marnie’s bedroom though, which seems to imply someone got Stardew Va-laid.

The best bit is, if you decide to keep them and display them on your farm stall, he gets furious and attempts to bribe you to keep quiet.

Lewis? Total player.
