6. Deliver The Mysterious Box - Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic

In legendary RPG Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, developers BioWare decided to mess with players' natural-yet-insatiable curiosity in one of the side quests on Korriban.

Those who complete a spice delivery for the Rodian Lurze Kesh will receive the offer of further employment, and upon accepting will receive a mysterious box to deliver to Motta the Hutt.

Lurze warns you not to open the box under any circumstances, albeit without ever explaining why not. Naturally for many players the temptation is simply too much, though if you're going to open the box you'll probably want to save your game first.

Opening the box results in the player's consciousness being transported to a white metaphysical prison, where a Rakatan prisoner is waiting.

You're then forced into a Hobbit-esque riddle game with the Rakatan, as only after answering a few riddles correctly will you be returned to your body.

Get any of them wrong, though, and you'll be trapped in the soul prison while the Rakatan makes off with your body, resulting in a Game Over. Nice.
