10 Video Game Objectives That Totally Trolled Players
5. Meld With Morinth - Mass Effect 2
No video game franchise does romance quite like Mass Effect, and the second game in the series even allows you to forge a romance with a deadly mate, the asari known as Morinth.
Morinth makes the seductive sell that her melding partners experience much greater pleasure than in a typical melding, the only flipside being that she has a rare genetic disorder which also causes her to kill anyone she mates with.
Furthermore, because Morinth grows stronger, smarter, and more powerful with each deadly meld, she's effectively addicted to it and will do whatever it takes to lure mates in.
Players who sufficiently pursue Morinth will even hear her proclaim that Shepard may be strong-of-mind enough to survive the meld, and suggests they attempt it if they both survive the game's climactic suicide mission.
Those who hold Morinth to her word get a nasty - if hilarious - surprise, then, when finally melding with her.
The liaison quickly results in Shepard dying a seemingly agonising death as his nervous system is, as Morinth puts it, "overloaded with ecstasy."
Never change, Mass Effect.
