10 Video Game Remasters NOBODY Asked For

6. Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered

Surely the award for most shamelessly expedited double-dip remaster must go to Insomniac's Spider-Man, as the original iteration of the web-slinging adventure game launched for PS4 in September 2018, only for a PS5 remaster to release barely two years later in November 2020, coinciding with the PS5's launch.

Though this remaster did include The City That Never Sleeps DLC, three extra suits, and other minor additions such as extra trophies, many understandably felt the PS5 upgrade should've been free given the proximity of the remaster's release.

Instead, upon launch players either had to splash out for the pricey Ultimate Edition of Spider-Man: Miles Morales or pay an uplift fee, a decision which was met with considerable backlash by the fanbase.

Ultimately it was an easy remaster to skip, though, given how recently most would've played the PS4 release.

The utter lack of "necessity" was staggering, and that's without even getting into the wildly polarising change of Peter Parker's facial model, switching out John Bubniak for the decidedly more Tom Holland-looking Ben Jordan.
