10 Video Game Remasters NOBODY Asked For

7. Braid, Anniversary Edition

Braid is undeniably one of the most iconic and successful games from the indie game boom of the late 2000s and early 2010s - an ingeniously conceived and executed puzzle-platformer that's fondly regarded to this very day.

And yet, was anyone angling for a remaster? Apparently not.

Braid, Anniversary Edition - a remaster touting repainted visuals, smoother animations, reworked audio, and even dozens of new levels - came and went without making a dent this past May, enough that even designer Jonathan Blow later admitted that it "sold like dog s**t." Yikes.

As brilliant as Braid is, it's simply not a game that left its many fans itching to open their wallets for a shinier new version. The original iteration still looks excellent, which combined with its short three-hour play-time ensured this remaster was predictably dead on arrival.

Plus, for as innovative as Braid was in 2008, clever indie puzzle-platformers are a dime a dozen in 2024, so why shell out again for something you probably already own?
