10 Video Game Remasters NOBODY Asked For
5. Batman: Return to Arkham
Released in October 2016, Batman: Return to Arkham was a remastered collection of both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, which were released in 2009 and 2011 respectively.
And while there were admittedly some clamouring to see the games brought forward to the PS4/Xbox One generation - especially with the PS3 lacking backwards compatibility - it's also fair to say that the original iterations of both game have aged very well.
Upon release, many even complained that Return to Arkham's makeover stripped away much of the grit of the original games' aesthetic, giving it a cleaner, more "plastic" look. And beyond that, the duology was disappointingly locked to a mere 30fps.
Couple all this with the conspicuous lack of prequel Arkham Origins in the collection - likely because it was developed by WB Games Montréal rather than Rocksteady Studios - and the value proposition just wasn't there for most folks who'd already played these games on PS3.
