4. Paz's Secret Tape - Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes

Despite the brevity of the main campaign, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes manages to pack an emotional punch.

For the central mission, Big Boss must navigate around a black site prison camp, hoping to locate and extract two prisoners, Chico and Paz. Finding his allies isn't just challenging but deeply hard-hitting, especially when Boss and his team are forced to surgically remove a bomb from Paz's body.

However, this gripping scene is more impactful if players managed to collect all the audio logs, since it'll unlock a secret recording of Paz suffering a tirade of physical abuse from her jailers.

But at the same time, players mightn't want to listen to this tape. It's been made clear the prisoners were mistreated while on the black site, so hearing Paz being punished doesn't offer any new information. Considering we see Paz endure an unrealistic level of agony later, hearing her being tormented by her captors feels tacked on.

Even though Ground Zeroes wanted to push the mature elements as far as they could go, inserting an Easter egg involving a woman being tortured - by Chico against his will no less - was excessive.
