10 Video Game Secrets That Literally Wasted Your Time
Don't look for these easter eggs! They're not worth your time!
No one likes waiting, especially when they play a video game and expect to be hit with action at every step of the way.
However, sometimes a little bit of patience can really pay off, as games can offer rewards for those willing to wait for them.
Or just completely waste your time!
Yes, although good things come to those who wait, in some video games, the payoff of being patient can be wholly disappointing. The game will present you with a secret or a special message for investing time and effort into uncovering it, but it will either be something underwhelming, or it will make fun of you for finding it!
Usually, it's pretty fun to search for secrets, as they feel like a reward for curious games. However, these easter eggs are designed to waste as much time and effort to find.
You will have to get used to waiting to find them, or if you don't want to invest precious minutes and hours for something that will feel like a slap in the face, the following list will tell you everything you need to know without the extra effort!
10. Special Training - High On Life
High On Life is an FPS that takes every opportunity it can get to troll its players.
Especially when it involves an unnecessarily long easter egg that takes an hour to unlock.
During the mission to hunt down Douglas, the player needs to infiltrate the alien's secret training facility.
You enter the complex through a theater room where Douglas gives an introductory video to his new recruits. With plenty of jabs and insults, he tells you that you need to prove your resolve before you can move onto the next training area by waiting for a full hour.
Since no one actually wants to spend that much time doing nothing, the game immediately gives you a new objective to enter the complex via a vent.
However, the developers have actually included a secret for those who wait.
Sort of…
If you stick inside the room anyway, every fifteen minutes your gun will make a comment about it. For this reason, you might assume that waiting does cause the main entrance to open.
And yes, after an hour passes, Douglas congratulates you and the entrance opens, but before you can get it, it breaks, and then you're forced to use the vents anyway.
Well, that was a load of nothingburger!
