10 Video Game Trailers That Spoiled WAY Too Much

3. The White House Attack - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

One of the most memorable missions in the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is "Whiskey Hotel," where players are tasked with retaking the White House from overwhelming Russian forces.

It's an epic mission and a totally unexpected setting - or it would've been, had the game's trailers not freely showed clips of Washington D.C. aflame and players crossing a fiery White House lawn to approach the fortified building.

While on one hand this is such a ludicrously cool sequence that it's easy to see why Activision wanted to feature it extensively in Modern Warfare 2's marketing, the joy of discovery is also a thing, and to watch this mayhem unfold without prior knowledge would've been something else.

After all, it's Call of Duty - we all know it's gonna sell like hotcakes regardless of what's in the trailer, so there was really no need for such an aggressively hard sell.
