4. The Horde And The Alliance Almost Work Together More Than Fight - World Of Warcraft
The Horde and the Alliance are the two warring factions from World of Warcraft. The players on each side of the conflict are constantly taught to antagonize their enemies, and each faction has a huge library of lore detailing all the different war crimes that their rivals have committed against their people.
The Horde being the main villains of the Alliance's story and vice versa is a very real deal, and yet this still doesn't stop Blizzard from making them team up whenever there's a bigger threat on the horizon.
With each DLC introducing a new world-ending disaster, the brutal rivalry between the two major factions is pretty much always lifted in a spirit of mutual but wary cooperation.
In these moments, the barrier of prejudice is removed, and both story- and gameplay-wise, both factions focus on more important matters than their war.
The ceasefire happened in most DLCs, including the Burning Crusade, the Legion, and even Shadowlands, where the main villain is a rogue leader of the Horde.
At this point, the temporary alliances have been so common that it's almost hard to find a moment when the two factions are actually at each other's throats.
