10 Video Games That Have Epically Failed This Decade

6. Resident Evil 6 Is A Tiresome Slog & The Worst Of The Series

The Resident Evil series underwent a significant stylistic overhaul with the brilliant Resident Evil 4, which placed a greater focus on action, though still contained plenty of nerve-shredding suspense. The fifth game tipped this balance further towards action, and by the sixth game, the Resident Evil series just wasn't scary anymore. The game is divided into three main campaigns, with Leon's easily being the strongest and most familiar to the series' entertaining formula, whereas Chris' was widely criticised for being a generic shoot 'em up, but the real problem is that though the game is extremely long, it's just not very much fun. A common complaint was the inconsistency between chapters: some were exhilarating set-pieces, a few were in the vein of classic Resident Evil, and a large number were simply boring blast-a-thons, hampered even more by the questionable cover system, ropey controls and finicky camera. Despite selling well, the game turned out to be the most divisive entry in the series to date, and resulted in Capcom planning a yet-to-be-revealed reboot of the franchise.
