10 Video Games That Have Epically Failed This Decade

7. Duke Nukem Forever Is Lame & Outdated

Duke Nukem Forever is a game that most gamers and pundits thought would never be released: it would surely end up being another piece of video game vaporware that fans lamented forever more, right? Wrong. The game, sarcastically nicknamed "Duke Nukem: Taking Forever", finally came out in mid-2011 after an insane 15 years in development, having been scrapped and rebuilt numerous times due to various legal wranglings, changes in company structure, and simply trying to keep up with the ever-evolving gaming landscape. Few expected the game to be a masterpiece, but even so, it was mostly dismissed by critics and fans of the original games, who cited that the game essentially felt old-school to a fault. The gameplay and controls were at least a decade out of date, and hearing Duke make sexist remarks felt more like a creepy uncle awkwardly making inappropriate jokes at a family gathering: it used to be funny, but now it's just kinda sad. Considering the time spent making it, Duke was a run-of-the-mill relic from a bygone era that just didn't cut the mustard in 2011.
