9. StarCraft
A man with a similar name to SpongeBob, Seungseob Lee, tragically lost his life during a marathon gaming session of PC real-time strategy epic, StarCraft. Lee took up residence in an internet cafe for a solid fifty hours of non-stop futuristic battles before going into cardiac arrest and dying in a local hospital. Lee was seemingly heading into a downwards spiral as six weeks previously his girlfriend broke up with him and he was also fired from his job, a double barrelled dose of bad luck. An acquaintance of Lee's informed various news outlets that "...he was a game addict. We all knew about it. He couldn't stop himself." This explains why he managed to spend over two full days of solid gaming, but also question the morality of the internet cafe staff if nobody intervened to give him any sort of advice.
