10 Video Games People Died Playing

10. Legend Of Mir 3

Legend Of Mir The Legend of Mir series is a hugely popular MMORPG, especially in China and South Korea. Originally released in 2004, the game held a Guinness World Record for having the most subscribed players online simultaneously, 750,000. There is a high chance that two of those players who helped make that record a reality were best friends Qiu Chengwei and Zhu Caoyuan. Gaming can bring families and friends closer together for the better but this case just happened to edge that step further breaking the personal space boundaries, so much so that Qiu could see the innards of his friend-turned-mortal enemy, Zhu. The two friends jointly won and owned an in game sword by the name of the Dragon Sabre, which I presume they would pass back and forth on various quests to fulfil their fantasy stabbing adventure needs. Zhu being the good egg that he is took it upon himself to sell the virtual sword on eBay for the hefty sum of 7,200 Yuan, which translated at the time to £473/$872/‚673. That's quite a bit of pocket money for an in game item and enough to treat your friends to a few nights on the town. Zhu had other plans though and took a long time to offer to split the money with Qui. Despite numerous pleas to the police, there was no law broken as online property regulations had not come to pass yet, prompting Qui to take matters into his own hands, repeatedly stabbing his once friend to death. Qui handed himself into the authorities and is currently still behind bars.
