10 Video Games That Are Already In The Running For Game Of The Year 2017
3. Prey
Stuck in development limbo for years, Prey is the reboot of the 2006 cult classic first-person shooter also named Prey. While Prey 2 was announced a decade ago, it didn't really come to fruition, and players were left hanging whether the franchise would continue or left to rot.
For the 2017 version of the game, Bethesda tasked Arkane Studios (Dishonored) of developing a full-fledged reboot that not only ditched the Cherokee Indian theme, but also introduced a new protagonist in Morgan Yu. As Yu, you're stuck in the space station Talos I, and as many of you can guess, hostile alien beings (called the Typhon) are killing everyone. Prey has a Metroidvania-esque gameplay theme, wherein players can access more parts of the ship as you gain more abilities.
If there's something that can be said against Prey, it's that the latter 1/4 of the game doesn't live up to the earlier, fantastic, portions.
