10 Video Games That Could Be 2019’s Game Of The Year

1. The Outer Worlds

It might be fitting that The Outer Worlds wins big at The Game Awards after causing such a stir there last year. After Christopher Judge’s wonderful suit, The Outer Worlds trailer may well have been the most talked about topic from the ceremony.

Following in the wake of Fallout 76’s disaster, Obsidian twisted the knife, reminding everyone they can do Fallout-style RPGs better than the people who actually own Fallout.

Every new IP from a respected studio arrives with a healthy dose of hype, but after several stellar single-player releases in 2018 and Bethesda’s PR disaster, there was a perfect storm for the groundswell of support The Outer Worlds received.

But hype and pre-release support isn't always a good thing. In fact, too high expectations can often knock a game dead on its way out the door. But if we’re being optimistic about release dates here, we might as well be optimistic about quality too, and Obsidian's new game could continue their current winning streak.
