10 Video Games That Could Be 2019’s Game Of The Year

8. Halo Infinite

The hype for the new Gears game is close to zero, but fans still hold a candle for Halo. PlayStation has dominated with exclusives this generation, and whether this game will stack up to Kratos, Spidey and Aloy’s best efforts remains to be seen, but Microsoft will have everything crossed that it does.

Halo’s co-creator Marcus Lehto has been sending out mixed messages too. He’s claimed Infinite could be ‘the cusp of a new Halo’, but at the same time admitted the game is in a ‘no win situation’ when it comes to either sticking with the formula or adapting to suit modern fans.

Master Chief is confirmed to feature, but it’s still a little unclear if this will be a Halo 6 style game, with focus on a single player story, or something more. Halo has always had great multiplayer, but could Infinite be a (slightly ironic) move into Destiny territory?

Whatever happens, all eyes will be on Halo Infinite from the start. If it’s good, there’ll be a huge fanbase supporting its push for Game Of The Year.
