10 Video Games That Could Be 2019’s Game Of The Year

6. The Last Of Us Part 2

The Last of Us is widely agreed to have one of the best storylines in gaming. For an AAA game especially, it was a big departure from the usual action heavy, quippy nature of huge releases. That’s one of the reasons the zombie tale stood out so much - it offered something completely different.

Since then, a few games have followed in its footsteps, but nothing has really overtaken it.

Zombies are admittedly oversaturated in the industry (just ask Days Gone) but The Last of Us Part 2 has the weight of the previous instalment behind it. In such a narrative-heavy game, there’s no way this will be a copy-and-paste effort either. Plus, with six years since the first release, it definitely hasn’t been rushed.

The only problem is the gameplay, which was a little spotty last time round. If the devs have improved in this area, it’ll easily be in the GOTY mix.
