10 Video Games That Didn't End The Way Any Of Us Wanted

Borderlands Destroyer

Yet another game you’d absolutely expect to be on this list if you’re a purveyor of bad endings (which… I don’t know why you would be) is Borderlands.

The infamous ending to a game that would kick one of gaming's biggest saturated shooters had you finally arrive at the Vault you’ve been scouring the planet of Pandora for all game long. Naturally you’ve gone in expecting some substantial loot or at least a satisfying ending to the narrative. Instead, you discover there’s no treasure in the Vault at all, just a big monster dubbed The Destroyer that you’re tasked with destroying before he destroys you. Then the Vault gets shut up again and that’s it.

The ending was so famously disappointing that fans were furious and it was only after some solid DLC offerings and apologies by way of the sequel that the series continued.
