10 Video Games That Didn't End The Way Any Of Us Wanted

2. A Way Out

A Way Out Ending
Electronic Arts

If you were playing this one with a buddy you probably don’t mind the ending at all. You may have even thought it was exciting, clever, even a delightfully unpredictable twist.

If, however, you were playing this one with a non-gamer friend or loved one who you’d convinced to join you for this cooperative epic hoping to hook them into the world of co-op video games, this was not the ending for you.

A Way Out is a pretty fun and inoffensive puzzle adventure for the most part. You journey through various locations as two characters who begin their story locked up in a jail and both make their way out then try to stay that way. After a series of bonding moments, the game takes a massive shift in its eleventh hour. All of a sudden it’s revealed one of these guys isn’t who he said he was and he’s actually an undercover cop so you guys are on opposite sides.

That becomes wildly apparent when the game sets you up against each other in a now infamous shoot out that has fractured many a friendship and relationship.

If you got through the end of this one without a fight you’d have picked the right co-op companion and you’re a stronger person than me.
