Why The Difference?
If you took on a complicated task and did 95% of it incredibly well, that would have to be considered a pretty good job wouldn’t it? I mean, is it reasonable to expect someone to do something 100% all of the time?
Perhaps not, but sometimes the final result is a matter of that 5% still being incredibly important. Although most of Mass Effect 3 is every bit the brilliant game that the early reviews suggested it was, gamers everywhere were soon only talking about its mismanaged ending.
Essentially negating many of the decisions in the game that came before by having the franchise’s ending boil down to a simplistic series of final choices, gamers took this as a slap in the face to everything they'd been promised.
To this day ME3 is a sticking point for a lot of gamers, as they were simply not as willing to focus on what came before as other critics were.
