10 Video Games That Had A Tutorial Way After You Needed It

2. Tekken 7

This Japanese fighting franchise places high emphasis on long-winded combos and a widely varied character roster, making it one of the more hardcore entries in the genre. Despite this initially high barrier to entry, Tekken has generally offered good tutorials that go over the move set for each fighter and allow full practice against AI opponents. It's a well-established feature that gets newcomers past the initial complexities of fighting games. This wasn't the case for Tekken 7, released in the arcades in 2015 and arriving on consoles two years later, the important feature was omitted.

The title is otherwise a great return to form for the series, but developer Bandai Namco made the controversial decision not to include any kind of tutorial, stating that players didn't spend a lot of time on them to begin with. While that may be true for long-term fans, the accessibility of the seventh entry has taken a step backwards as a result. The story mode is hardly a substitute for a training mode and while the developer did oblige with a couple of online videos, many fans still decried the lack of a dedicated feature in-game. It's unlikely to be added anytime
