10 Video Games That Had A Tutorial Way After You Needed It
1. World Of Tanks
Arguably the most popular game put out by Wargaming, World of Tanks built its name on getting players behind the wheel of a wide array of powerful armoured vehicles from the thirties to the sixties. Judging by its consistently high player numbers, it remains a tantalising online title. It's often a riot to tear across the terrain in these juggernauts; that is, apart from when you're struggling to understand how the tanks control and differ from each other. Still enduring in its popularity, World of Tanks went many years without a tutorial, cultivating its community gradually without as much catering to casual audiences.
Four years later, the 9.12 update was unveiled in October 2015, with one of its central features being the "Proving Ground" mode. Chosen for players with less than ten multiplayer matches by default, this PVE addition allowed newcomers to duke it out against AI-controlled tanks, giving them a safe place to get into the game and test things out before going up against more highly skilled opponents. Taking place across two maps with tank tiers I and II participating, it's a worthwhile feature for the long-running MMO, even if arrived rather late into its life-cycle.
