10 Video Games That Hold Your Hand WAY Too Much
4. Pokémon Sun & Moon
And Nintendo strikes once more, this time with a game so tutorialised you couldn't be blamed for bouncing off it permanently in those opening hours.
Pokémon Sun and Moon makes you wait about an hour to get your starter, while relentlessly inundating you with cutscenes and chitchat text, often while only giving you back control for a few seconds in-between them.
It's absolutely maddening, and while Pokémon has never been a hardcore franchise, this molasses-slow start straight-up murders the game's pacing before it can build anything close to actual, honest-to-God momentum.
If you've been playing the series for literally decades at this point, it's hugely discouraging to sit through all this nonsense, especially with it being completely unskippable.
Time is a precious resource for any adult, and there comes a point where a game refusing to let go of your hand becomes suffocating to the point that the game's not actually worth playing anymore.
