The phrase “heroes never die” is one that will be familiar with any overwatch players in the audience especially those that main Mercy, ps shout out to my Junkrat boys, keep wheelin n stealing fellow scumbags, however the message rings true the loudest in one of the games loving tributes to Wu Hongyu.

Wu was a Chinese gamer who was incredibly excited for the games launch and often would post about the game in the lead up to its drop date. However the day before the game launched Wu was tragically killed in a true instance of heroics, apparently having given chase to a thief on his bike after he witnessed them trying to steal other motorcycles. A crash between the two bikes saw his life prematurely cut short and the Chinese government awarded him the “Courageous Citizen” award after his death.

Blizzard wanted to make sure the world knew of his actions and therefore in one of the levels you can see a Chinese space suit with his name written on it, alongside the phrase “heroes never die”.
