10 Video Games That Kill You No Matter What

4. Halo Reach

By its very nature of being a prequel, you always had a good idea of how Halo: Reach was going to end. The demise of your team was pretty much guaranteed from the moment the game's logo flashed on the screen, but it didn't make the eventual realisation that all was lost hit home any less.

The final mission of Reach offers you a last stand after the rest of your squad has been killed, and makes it pretty clear that there's no way you're going to make it out the other end alive. That doesn't mean you can't go down swinging though, and you're able to spend your final moments trying to take out as many Covenant soldiers as you possibly can.

It's obviously all futile though, and despite your action movie heroics, you'll still eventually be torn to shreds by blaster fire. At least your final moments make it clear that your sacrifice was worth it in the long run, though.
