10 Video Games That KNEW You'd Try To Cheat

5. Portal - Cheated!

Batman Arkham Asylum
Valve

Valve's Portal series includes some of the most difficult puzzles in all of gaming, true head-scratchers that will take you a fair amount of time to crack. Some of the most satisfying of these are the test chambers, a series of mini mental workouts found within each game's challenge mode.

If you can't be bothered doing these puzzles legitimately then there are plenty of cheats, exploits and console commands that you can utilise to make them easier, but in the first Portal game, you'll be called out for your tricksy ways if the game suspects you have completed one of its test chambers in an illegal manner.

If you enter challenge mode and complete any chamber with some sort of exploit enabled, the summary screen at the end of said challenge will be emblazoned with some bright red text that reads "CHEATED!" - just as a nice reminder.

It seems like Valve anticipated that players would attempt to find little workarounds, and wanted to make their thoughts about that subject crystal clear.
