10 Video Games That Let You Destroy The World

3. Eco

Fallout 4 Nuke
Strange Loop Games

While the previous games on this list let you destroy the world with powerful weapons or attacks, 2018's Eco takes a much different approach.

Your driving motivation throughout the game is to basically look after the planet, while also building up your own little civilization. You'll start by crafting a couple of simple wooden buildings, before eventually gaining enough experience (and gathering enough resources) to create machines, factories, villages, and even a government.

But, crucially, you'll have to strike the right balance between expanding your operation, and keeping your natural surroundings healthy. Hunt too many animals, and they can go extinct. Chop down too many trees, and you can increase air pollution. Needless to say, things like this will not have a positive effect on your world, and you can screw over your chances of nurturing a thriving environment if you aren't careful.

In addition, we should also mention the fact that there's a huge meteor heading for the planet. Over the course of the game you're supposed to improve your technology and infrastructure in order to destroy said meteor and save the world, but if you want, you can just let it strike, ravaging the land around you in the process.
