10 Video Games That Literally Dragged You Through Hell
2. Agony
If some of the other versions of Hell on this list strike you as a bit tame or uninteresting, then Agony might be more up your street. Madmind Studios' conjured up a truly horrifying vision of Lucifer's domain for their first-person horror experience back in 2018. The world of Agony is like every vision of Hell you might be able to dream up, and then beaten to a pulp and turned up to eleven.
Agony is a linear exploration-based horror game that tasks you, a nameless, tortured lost soul, with hiding from the many horrifying demons that populate this world as they pursue the Red Goddess and try to escape Hell. With few options other than possessing other victims or running and hiding from enemies, this is survival of the fittest at its most desperate.
Just as the gameplay is designed to scare you, so is the environment. The world of Agony is littered with broken bodies and every structure is a gross amalgam of skeletons knitted together with flesh.
If the other more stereotypical demons don't interest you, the distinct body-horror from Madmind that created monsters out of limbs, babies, genitalia and gore galore might be more of the hellish experience you're after.
