10 Video Games That Made You PAY EXTRA For The Ending
5. Control
Max Payne was a story about a drugged-out cop who reluctantly became a psychotic super hero, Alan Wake was about a writer who could bring fiction to life - against his will - thanks to a magic lake, and Quantum Break was about Merry from Lord of the Rings inventing time travel. So we all knew that Remedy's 2019 release, Control, would be a wild ride for sure.
The talented Courtney Hope portrays Jesse Faden who has recently been promoted to the position of Director of the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC), a governmental organization that investigates supernatural events in the world. Jesse has a vested interest in working from within the FBC since it kidnapped her brother, Dylan, years earlier.
In the end Jesse solves the bureau's problems and accepts her new role as Director after not only finding her brother, but learning he's played a pivotal role in the events she's now trapped within. The end.
But in the Foundation DLC we learn that there is more afoot - the Hiss, the enemy of the main game, has infiltrated a deeper echelon and one of your cohorts has disappeared below. Betrayals abound, totally changing the ending for a few dollars more.
